Sale with old jewel exchange

View as Markdown

Sell new jewellery and take the customer’s old gold in exchange on the same bill.

Key features

  • Take old gold against a new purchase
  • Balance to pay is shown on the bill

Steps

Example: Murugan from Madurai buys a 22K chain. The bill is ₹69,504. He gives an old chain: 10.000 g gross, 0.200 g less, purity 91.6. You buy it at ₹6,500 per gram on net weight.

1

Make the bill

Create the sales bill and add the new chain. See Sales bill.

2

Open the old jewel block

In Old Jewel Purchase, click Create New. The voucher number fills in, e.g. OJP0001.

3

Enter the old piece

Pick the Item, enter Pcs 1, Gross 10.000, Stone 0, Less 0.200. Net shows 9.800 g. Purity % is 91.6, so Pure shows 8.977 g.

4

Enter the rate

Rate ₹6,500, Calc By Net Weight. Value: 9.800 × 6,500 = ₹63,700. Click Save.

5

Collect the balance

Net Receivable becomes ₹69,504 − ₹63,700 = ₹5,804. Add a receipt for ₹5,804 and save the bill.

If the old gold is worth more than the new bill, the shop owes the customer. Check Net Receivable before saving.
