Inclusive billing (all-in price)

View as Markdown

Use inclusive billing when the customer agrees one final price, for example “₹50,000 all-in” for a chain.

Key features

  • Inclusive By (per row): type the GST-inclusive Net Total and the row works backwards. Choose what changes: Wastage, Making Charge, Rate or Discount. If you leave it blank, the metal default is used.
  • Reverse Calculation (whole bill): click the calculator button near the totals and enter the target Net Amount for the full bill.
  • Item wise Reverse Calculation: a popup to set the target price item by item.

Inclusive By and Reverse Calculation are not the same as the Reverse Charge switch. Reverse Charge is a GST setting (RCM). Do not switch it on for an all-in price.

Before you start

  • Enter today’s metal rate.
  • Agree the all-in price with the customer.

Example: ₹50,000 all-in chain, adjusted by Wastage

Kavitha from Madurai likes a 22K chain. Net weight 6.000 g, rate ₹7,000 per gram, making charge ₹400 per gram. She agrees ₹50,000 all-in.

1

Open a new sales bill

Go to Daily Counter → Sales → Sales bills and create a new bill. Pick Kavitha as the customer.

2

Add the chain

Scan the tag or pick the item. Check the weight, rate and making charge.

3

Choose Inclusive By

In the row’s Inclusive By column, choose Wastage.

4

Type the all-in price

Type 50,000 in the row’s Net Total. The row works backwards and changes the wastage so that the total, with GST, is ₹50,000.

5

Check and save

Check the wastage, the GST column and the Net Amount. Then take payment and save.

How the numbers work (approx.):

PartAmount
Net Total (with 3% GST)₹50,000.00
Taxable (50,000 ÷ 1.03)₹48,543.69
Metal (6.000 g × ₹7,000)₹42,000.00
Making charge (6.000 g × ₹400)₹2,400.00
Wastage (what is left)₹4,143.69 (about 0.592 g, about 9.9%)

The app’s final figures may differ by a few paise because of rounding.

Whole-bill target

1

Add all items

Add every piece to the bill.

2

Open Reverse Calculation

Click the calculator button near the totals.

3

Enter the target

Enter the target Net Amount, e.g. ₹1,25,000 for three pieces, and apply. Use Item wise Reverse Calculation if you want to set each item’s price.

Always check the GST column and the wastage or making charge after a reverse calculation, before you save.
