# Top-up

> Give extra money on an existing jewel loan when the gold value has gone up.

**Menu:** Jewel Loan → Loan Lifecycle → Top-up

**Example:** Gold rate has gone up since Kumar took his loan. His chain is now worth more, so you can give him extra money on the same loan.

#### Find the loan

Type the loan number in **Loan Account**.

#### Re-appraise at today's gold rate

Enter the **New appraised value** of the pledged jewels at today's rate. The screen shows Prior appraised value, Re-appraised value and **Eligible top-up**.

#### Enter the top-up details

Top-up amount (up to the eligible amount), Processing fee (taken from the payout) and Top-up date. Under **Interest on top-up amount**, choose **Charge Interest** or **Interest-free**. With Charge Interest, the top-up amount earns interest from the top-up date at the loan's rate.

#### Pay the customer

Under **Pay out to customer**, turn on **Split across modes** if needed. Click **Confirm Top-up**.

**Net payable to customer** = Top-up amount − Processing fee.
