# Piece-rate bill

> Bill an item at a fixed price per piece, with no weight calculation, such as a gift box or pooja item.

Bill an item at a fixed price per piece, with no weight calculation, such as a gift box or pooja item.

## Key features

* Bill items at a fixed price per piece
* Use general sale for non-jewellery items

Use this for items sold at a fixed price, not by weight. Examples are a velvet gift box or a ready-made silver pooja set with a price tag.

## Option 1: General sale (non-jewellery items)

**Example:** Ravi from Tirunelveli buys 2 gift boxes at ₹150 each.

#### Open General sale

Go to **Daily Counter → Sales → General sale** and click to add a new sale.

#### Pick the customer

Choose the **Customer**. Keep GST Type as *Intra State (CGST+SGST)*.

#### Add the item

In **Item**, search for *Gift Box*. Enter **Pcs** 2 and **Rate** ₹150. Before Discount shows ₹300. Taxable, GST Amt and Net Total fill in.

#### Take payment and save

Click **Add Receipt**, then **Save**.

The General sale grid has only Item, Pcs, Rate, Before Discount, Discount, Taxable, GST Amt and Net Total. There are no weight, wastage or making charge columns.

## Option 2: An item set up for a fixed price

On the item, you can untick **Has Metal**, **Has Wastage** and **Has Making Charges**, and choose a **Selling Price Method** other than *Metal Rate*. See [Items](../stock/items).

> **Note**
>
> The exact choices in **Selling Price Method** depend on your setup. Check the list on the item form. Always check the GST on the bill before saving.
