# Ledger groups and ledgers

> The account heads used for your books, such as Cash, Bank, Sundry Debtors and Sales.

## Ledger groups

Groups arrange your ledgers under Assets, Liabilities, Income, Expenses and Equity. A full set is already made for you.

**Menu:** Accounts → Finance → Ledger Group

The list shows Group Name, Parent Group, Type, Subtype and Status. For example, *Bank Accounts* and *Cash-in-Hand* sit under *Assets*, and *Sundry Creditors* under *Liabilities*. Click **Add Group** to add your own.

## Ledgers

A ledger is one account, such as Cash, Customers or Hallmark Charges Income.

**Menu:** Accounts → Finance → Ledger

Click **Create Ledger**.

Click **Save**.
