# Financial year

> Create your financial year from April to March, and lock it when the books are closed.

**Menu:** Accounts → Finance → Financial Year

The list shows FY, From, To, Locked, Audited and Status.

Click **Add Financial Year**.

| -------------------- | ------------------------------ | --------- |
| Code \*              | The year code                  | FY2026-27 |
| Start Year (YYYY) \* | The year it starts             | 2026      |
| Locked               | No posting allowed when locked |           |
| Audited              | Audit completed                |           |

The year runs from **1 April** to **31 March**. FY2026-27 runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.

Click **Create**.

> Tick **Locked** after your auditor finishes, so no one changes old entries by mistake.
